With some experience under his belt, Ozzie left Broadcast Quality and entered the world of freelance production work. Shooting low budget music videos and small corporate videos, still eager to learn more about the industry he began working at Accord Film and Video Productions as their night editor. After a year, he again entered the freelance world working as a Director of Photography on commercials, documentaries, music videos and independent features.
In 1998, while working as the Senior Camera Operator, at a Barry Diller television station, the station acquired a Steadicam but did not have anyone to operate it. It was here where Ozzie began the next chapter of his career as a Steadicam operator. A few years later he would be properly be taught by Garrett Brown, the inventor of the Steadicam.
